There you have it, folks. The culmination of what proved to be an extremely productive weekend manifested itself in the form of me finally finishing the layout stage of the secret project. One weight off my shoulders is immediately replaced by an even heavier one. Can't be messing around with this part though, for sure. I'm going to need a fresh batch of art supplies (pens, pencils, ink, etc.) and, more importantly, all new paper. For the past few years, I've done all of my artwork exclusively in spiral bound sketchbooks. That just won't cut it anymore for this project. I'm going to put it the extra coin to get my hands on these bad boys. If clothes make the man, then I'm hoping that these make the book. Time for this not so young man to go pro.
But that's for another day. The rest of my day is going to be spent screening a double feature of THE ROAD and THE BOOK OF ELI. If I told you that its strictly for research purposes, can you start to picture the kind of monster I'm turning this story into?
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to end this post on a sad note. As much as I'd love to show everyone the page I finished today, the page with the money shot, the page with the big cliffhanger reveal, I can not. I'd rather have it that the first time people get to see it isn't on a computer screen.
I want you to see it on the printed page.
I got one step closer to that dream today.
